We had the absolute pleasure of being able to attend the breast cancer fashion show that was hosted at the Place Gardens a few days ago. Here is where we met a beautiful woman who modeled at the fashion show, and she touched our heart. Sue Oldacre is a beautiful soul who has been fighting daily to beat this disease. We brought her an orchid and gift card, as something to make her day during her battle with cancer.
The “Fired Up for a Cure”, hosted by the Palace Gardens in homestead was a fundraiser for Cancer Link. Cancer Link is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to finding an ultimate cure for breast cancer through research and growing and fostering the community outreach at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Ten breast cancer survivor models strutted the runway, modeling fashions by Chico’s at The Falls. Live entertainment featured The Fire Brigade Band, The South Florida Firefighter Calendar Models and the production group, “Dance Attack,” offered a drag show featuring acts by Judy Garland, Bette Midler, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Cher, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, and Beyoncé. The finale of the show featured a song dedicated to breast cancer awareness titled “Coming out of the Dark.”
